Wilor Bluege, Teacher...
As a teacher, Ms. Bluege is committed to the art of the classical ballet. Wilor has inspired, educated, coached, mentored, and empowered students for many years. She is recognized for an ability to combine technical expertise and artistry in the teaching of ballet and for her ability to instill passion for the art in the next generation of artists, audiences, and supporters. Ms. Bluege uses a method of systematic training of students based on the Russian model, but adapted to the American educational and cultural situation. Wilor is one of a handful of teachers still teaching the art of "Character Dance," (dances of diverse ethnic and cultural origins). It is a particular specialty of hers that she teaches both the classical and the peasant form of this exciting dance art. She has extensive experience choreographing in the genre, and has developed a syllabus for teaching beginning to advanced levels of character dance. |
